With either of these Systems, one will eventually make a sale. However, most people will quit the System before it produces because the System is too difficult to use and causes a level of discomfort, unacceptable to most people.These Systems, universally taught, will work for the home networker. They just do not work well or efficiently.
There are companies with systems that are better than others, and you might even be comfortable using one of them. After developing sufficient abilities and skills so that you become a salesperson and all that it entails, than a Networker, you might have some success.
Cold Calling versus SEO SOCIAL NETWORKING
Cold Calling
There are several problems inherent in Cold Calling. I might note here, that cold calling is cold calling even if you are calling your so called warm market. That is calling your family and friends, not knowing if they have an inclination, much less a desire or need, to buy your product or service. The first thing new distributors think when a Networking Sponsor says; make a list, is: OH NO I have to sell something. This is because cold calling is done by salespeople and telemarketers.
Another problem with cold calling is that it is a One Time Shot. If, and this is a big IF, you do actually make a list or just call numbers at random from the phone directory, after you get a NO or worse, THAT particular self marketing promotion is OVER. Done. Even if you wanted to call that same person again, and I can assure you that this is something you would not wish to do, you would gain neither their attention nor respect.
These two issues present enough problems by themselves, but the BIGGEST problem with any form of cold calling is that it is the PROSPECT, not the PROSPECTOR, who has the POWER POSITION. From the prospects viewpoint, you do not have anything HE needs. You on the other need, or have the perception of needing, to make a sale. This is a very difficult situation to overcome, if you are in it.

A HOME MANAGED AFFILIATE BUSINESS – an efficient system for early retirement
Almost every Company in existence incorporates some sort of affiliate program in their business plan: from the largest corporations like Wal-Mart, Costco or Dell; to your locally owned gym, salon or restaurant. Commissioned salespeople, waiters, CEO’s, board of directors, Blackjack dealers, drug dealers, arms dealers and pimps, are all manners of business affiliates. As are enthusiastic customers who, by word of mouth or through the Internet, share their experiences about the company, product or service from which they have received extraordinary value.
A business affiliate is anyone who inputs some combination of time, energy and money into an income producing system owned and operated by the Company, and receives a part of the value produced by their input. The amount of value received by the business affiliate is determined by their level of input and the efficiency of the system. The level of input is entirely up to you. Some companies have more efficient systems than others, therefore, you should do your homework.
Also, it is quite possible, because of the casual nature of the relationship and the form or amount of compensation, you have been an affiliate for a business and didn’t even know it. FYI – Consumer loyalty programs are also a form of affiliate business marketing. In an odd twist, if you are a frequent flier member of an airline, accumulating points” for miles having flown, you are both the business affiliate for, and the customer of, that airline. A business affiliate, and you never knew you were one.
In all cases, the Company compensates the affiliate with something of value for their contribution. Affiliates earn money, goods, services, discounts, etc., when they facilitate a sale to a new customer or increases sales to existing customers by upgrades, Add-Ons and in some cases, repeat sales to existing customers. The affiliate will have earned a profit, if the value of the compensation is greater than value of their input of time, energy or money.
Some affiliate programs are very simple with no formal contract or compensation plan. Within these, there might simply be an agreement, acknowledgment and a slight meeting of the minds. These usually are not very efficient at generating profits for the affiliate. An example of this would be your referring someone to dine at a restaurant owned by a friend of yours. That person does indeed go to eat at your friend’s restaurant. Your friend then, in turn, gives you a $10 gift certificate to his restaurant. There you go, but not a lot of profit.
Other affiliate programs are more complex and elaborate with lucrative compensation plans designed to be managed as a business which can create long-term, residual income, accumulate valuable assets and build abundant wealth. These programs can be highly efficient at generating profits. Take note and beware – some programs are highly efficient at generating profits, but only for the Company and its owners. Your due diligence in this area will serve you well.
Apart from your attitude, the most important ingredient in the recipe for becoming a successful affiliate business owner is your choosing the Company and program that is right for YOU. Most newbies in a work at home, networking business are taught that they should begin their recruiting efforts within their warm market. They are told to start prospecting, as would a salesperson, in their sphere of influence, including family and friends. It is assumed that with your influence over these people, you will be able to talk them into joining your business, or at least sell them on their attending an opportunity presentation. Maybe you will. Maybe you will not.
There are several inherent drawbacks to this approach as you have no doubt discovered, if you are already a Networker who works at home. If you are new, or you are considering working at home, now is a good time for you to be aware and gain some understanding. Fortunately, however there are also several methods to overcome these impediments, as it IS absolutely necessary that the person working at home DOES have an Expanding Sphere of Positive Influence. This is a FACT… EVERYONE who succeeds in a work at home, networking business either already possesses this asset or is creating it.
Now, I will address the elements of this philosophy that are flawed and hinder the business building process of Networkers who work at home.
But first, let us establish a hypothetical, Sphere of Influence, Power Scale. The scale notes rankings from 1 to 10, with 10 being the most powerful, and 1 the least. Examples of a 10 would be the President of the United States, Warren Buffet or Bill Gates. They could command an audience or meeting with almost anyone. Someone who does indeed have ranking say, of 9 or 10, probably already earns a large income, has great wealth and control great power. They are not likely to join a Network Marketing business as an Independent Affiliate. They might FOUND a company, as did Donald Trump. More on the Donald in a few minutes.
Because of their potential contribution to the company a powerful person or a super salesman may be brought into the close inner circle of a company by the Founder, placed on level one, and rewarded with a compensation plan much greater than that of any other Affiliate. The fact is most of us, you and I, are not a 9 or a 10, but we should want to work our way up the scale.
A short example of a 1 would be a stoned, high-school dropout, with no income and no assets sleeping on a park bench. The only meeting they will have is with the person passed out on the bench next to them. Thankfully, you and I are not a 1 either.
One flaw might be the Sphere itself. It is probably not as large as you and your Sponsor thinks it is. The Networking Business is predicated on the Law of Large Numbers and the Law of Averages. To apply, both require, you guessed it, a LARGE group. Also, if you Sphere is a group, even a large one, of pool-playing, beer-drinking scoundrels, then; it is what it is and you will continue to be what you are. But, people can change.
Whatever the size of the Sphere, you and all those in it will have the same, or very close to it, rank on the power scale, somewhere between 1 and 10. Let us set it at 5. There may be a few in 5.5 to 6 range, and there will be a few 4s. It is not impossible, but very difficult, for a 5 to enroll a 6, unless the 5 is a professional salesperson or telemarketer. A 5 would be comfortable talking with a 5, and more influential with a 4, but there are fewer of to talk with. Never the less, most people start with a rather small Sphere. It contracts when considering only those at their rank, and becomes smaller when counting those few over which they have any influence at all.
So new entrepreneurs begin their work at home, networking business at particular rank, again we will say 5. If they Sponsor anyone at all, the odds are it will be a 4,3 or 2. If they stay dedicated and persistent over a long time, they might even sponsor a 6. Guess what happens to those 4s you sponsor. They sponsor 4s and 3s, maybe a 5. From there it goes on and on and on. Or should I say down and down and down. Get the picture?
Now about the Influence element of the philosophy. This is not all about money, the amount you have or the income you earn. Economic status is of course some of it. It is about you business and earning ability, or the perception of it, by those in your Sphere. You influence does need to be positive in a business sense, born of a realization that you possess the skills and abilities to operate a system that makes a profit.
Go back to the pool-playing pals mentioned above. One of them is an expert player, in the pool hall playing 12 hours a day. He is ranked a level 10, the highest, pool player, and makes a decent living hustling other players. But, he is always broke, bums beers and rides and doesn’t have many friends. NO ONE will go into a business with HIM. He has a lot of influence at a pool table, but none at a business table. Donald Trump, on the other hand, has more than most, positive business influence. He has filed bankruptcy, more than once, but he still can influence people to loan him money and go into business with him because of his real and perceived abilities to produce results in a venture.
Therefore, three obstacles which must be overcome are small spheres, non-productive spheres and ineffective or negative business influence. Here are three processes that bring positive results.
For the work at home networker, this is the fastest, but most difficult. It is the fastest because it requires no interaction with others, no special tools or money. Here it is; just TAKE the ATTITUDE of the person you wish to become. If you ARE a 5, take the attitude of a 6. At once your number of people in your Sphere increases as well as your mental influence. This CAN happen very quickly, but as I said, it is very difficult because most people do not think this way. A professional salesperson is quite adept at doing this. Most people can not.
The second approach, which takes more time but is the easiest, is to rely on the assistance, expertise and influence of your Sponsor. He was probably at, or above, your level to begin when you started in business together. Automatically by association your Power Ranking goes UP. This is a little more time consuming because of their availability and schedule. You have to deserve their time and there are others who desire it also.
The last process we will discuss is to intentionally work on INCREASING your Power Ranking. On purpose, learn the skills, acquire the abilities, obtain the tools, and take action to progressively move in the direction you have purposely decided to go. Anyone CAN do this. Not everyone will. This process takes both time and energy. Everyone who HAS done it, has found it was worth the effort.

Work at Home – Selling or Buying?
Most people think that the processes of selling and buying happen at the same time in the course of a business transaction. I do not. I believe they are mutually exclusive and can not exist at the same time, in the same transaction.
Selling occurs when a purveyor of goods or services attempts to induce another person to accept their offer of value in exchange for some money. This is when “selling” takes place. There are definite skill-sets required to be an effective salesperson. Some who have accquired these skills, use them ethically, and some, do not. Buyer beware, as the saying goes.
A couple of obvious examples where selling is the main course of business are used car salesmen and telemarketers.
On the other side of the universe is buying.
Buying occurs when a person has a predisposition to purchase a particular product or service. Then, based on their knowledge and perception of the suppliers available to satisfy their needs, SEEKS OUT the one, with whom they wish to do business.
The grandest example of this is WalMart. Wal Mart spends millions of dollars in advertising, builds magnificant stores, engages in philanthropy and applies very good business sense to their operations to position themselves where a very great many people are predispositioned to buy from them. And people do. No one goes into a WalMart to be sold anything.
Also, no one goes into business for themselves and work at home because the have too many millions, too many building or too much business acumen. There many valid reasons to work at home, but I have never heard any of those. Most entrepreneurs, either working at home or not, have limited resources of time, skills and money.
In any large group of people, a certain percentage have a predisposition to buy any distinct product or service. That percentage depends on the demand. It may be only 1 out of 100, if supply is not a popular one. In the case of WalMart, it might be 80 or 90 out of 100 because of their branding and the prolific number of needs they serve and benefits they provide.
If you represent a stable company with a viable product the percent of people who would do business with you might be 20 out of 100. The problem is that you do not know which of the 100, are the 20 who will buy. Plus, tomorrow, it will not be the same 20. There will still be 20 wanting to buy, but they will be different people.
When you are in the business of selling, as are most of the home-ventures ongoing in the marketplace today, you must do a great deal talking (selling) to those who are not going to buy. At least not at the time you talk to them.
So, how does the work at home, networker, self-employed business owner overcome this issue and these odds? Well, that is a very good question. And, I have a very good answer. It is called “Its Good Business”. We understand it, we practice it and we reap the rewards. We also teach it.

THE LAW OF ECONOMIC SYSTEMS
Every enterprise ever designed to make money is a system, or set of systems of some sort, and this include a work-at-home networking business.
Into the System , you must INPUT; Time, Energy and Assets (usually some combination thereof). OUT of the System comes $$$MONEY!
There is no way around this. It is a law of the Universe, like the law of gravity. If you jump off of a tall building, you will always go down, you will never go up. THAT’s the law.

The amount of each element in the formula will vary according to one’s own particular circumstance, but all of the them must be included, none the less. Here is an overview of the components of the elements.

a. Personal – This can be increased or decreased daily by the individual person, but there are only 24 hrs in a day, 168 hours in a week. Make the most of them.
b. Geological – Every System takes time to produce (ranges from minutes to years) Humans have a limited about of geological time, and this amount is unknown
#2. Energy – (this includes but is not limited to) Physical, sphere of influence (positive), skills, abilities, desire, commitment, initiative, ingenuity, experience, wisdom. All of these can be increased, enhanced or improved with knowledge and enthusiasm to do so.
#3. Assets – Cash, Stocks, Bonds, Securities, Deeds, Credit, Barter, Commodities
Here are a few examples of greatly different Systems and the varying allocation of resources:
Minimum Wage Earner – almost no energy or money, lots of time
Brain Surgeon – almost no money, a little time, but lots of energy
Trust Fund Baby – no time, no energy, but lots of money
Network Marketer – Flexible. Everyone make their own determination, commitment and investment. Most people want to work at home have limited T,E, & A resources and allocate what they can and LEVERAGE those of the company they represent, their upline sponsors or other company leaders, trainers and teachers.
A note on System Efficiency – Some Systems are more efficient than others and system efficiency can be increased.The more efficient the system, the more money is produced with the same amount of input.
